Kaspin playing with mattress.

Kaspin has been getting more and more confident! Today I took Kaspin for a walk down the driveway. I had kaspin lead. Since Kaspin prefers to only follow and not think for himself. Letting him lead gets him thinking and I just love it!!! Kaspin blew out once on our way back from our walk, yeahh. Then we went into the arena to Parelli play. Kaspin blew out once in the arena. Then when we were done. We left the arena and took the walk back to his pasture and again 2 more blows out. How exciting to me!!!! Here is a video below of some of the Parelli fun we have in the arena. I love the way Kaspin sniffed all the small leaves on the arena ground! He is starting to be sooo curious of everything. It's like he is seeing the world for the first time! Soooo cool!

Here is Enzo and I working on ground driving again. As you see I have progressed to being more behind Enzo now. Instead of along side of him. You can still see Enzo is still confused with trot, and turns. But hey we are doing just fine, I think!! P.S This is my treeless sensation saddle on both my boys:)

Keep it fun!! Janine~Enzo, and Kaspin!!!

  2. I love how Kaspin picked the mattress up! Does he try to mouth everything?
    Enzo seems very relaxed.

  3. When I first got Kaspin he did nothing with anything. The last people never had Kaspin think for himself. He went out with a herd and followed them. And when they trail rode Kaspin followed another horse. When they did ride Kaspin alone they micro managed all his steps on the ground and in the saddle, with halters, tie downs, bridle with harsh bits, etc. So Kaspin never had to think for himself, nor did his true self ever show. Since I have gotten Kaspin last Aug. I have been letting Kaspin lead everywhere and I taught him to touch things. This makes him confident in new things and get curious of new things. So more and more his own attitude is coming out. Once horses get confident, they then want to chew, touch, and play with things. So I am just thrilled that Kaspin is finally touching things, smelling things, looking at things, eating things, and playing with things. Woo hooo!!! Nothing like a happy confident horse! Enzo probably seems relaxed, because I raised him from 5 months old. Plus, he already was born more confidence than Kaspin and that helps as well. Kaspin is a true chicken and always will be. I am just showing him how he can pass his fear and to come out of his fear much faster. Enzo gets scared as well and I do the same. Hope this explains some?? It's hard to explain in writing, LOL.

    1. LOL, No when Kaspin gets really confident he always drops his penis and keeps it hanging. I hate it, but nothing I can do for now. I just wrote the Parelli's if they have ever seen this with Right Brain horses that are introverts??? We will see what they say???

    2. You will have to let me know what they say! Laz does it too sometimes...also whacks it against his belly sometimes, ugh...which I think is just a male playing gross thing, lol!!

    3. Yeah, if it's just once an while, no big deal and probably just a male thing. But kaspin will keep it out(hanging and relaxed) for 30 mins to an hour while I play with him. That's crazy to me! Put it away. Someone already said on Parelli Connect, they think it's because he is relaxed. I do agree! But will he always do this? Or is it just for now while he is learning this new world of relaxation I am teaching him? Lucky for me he doesn't do it with riding, well not as of yet!!!! I hope not. I still let you know if Linda Parelli answers though.

    1. Sensation, and I also own a barefoot for trails. I also used to own a Ansur and loved it. But it looked more for shows and I didn't show. So I sold it. But I loved all 3 brands. Thanks!

  6. Kaspin is doing so well! He's getting so much more confident and relaxed (oh and the penis thing just means they are relaxed as far as I know, because a tense horse won't drop at all)!! You're doing so great with him. I laughed out loud when he walked over the matress and about tripped on his face. Silly boy.

Enzo looks great. I think it's so cool that we've both had our boys since they were five months old. :D Chrome still gets confused with ground driving too. I need to try again. I haven't because I don't have an arena, but we're going to try to set one up using my round pen panels and some t-posts. We'll see how it goes.
