Figure 8, my first up-loaded video?

Ok, here is my first try on up-loading a video!!!This weekend I decided to try figure 8 around some tall white barrels(we have only used orange street cones so far). I think it went pretty good. I just had a hard time keeping the rope over the barrels. Enzo sometimes tries to turn figure 8 into "touch it" instead as you see at one point. Create great moments~Janine and Enzo

Enzo you always make me smile!

This picture is Enzo as a baby about 4 months old.
I had a another great weekend with Enzo! He really is growing up sooo fast that it amazes me every time! No matter how many young horses I have seen grow up! Enzo is now 15 hands at the withers and 15'1 at the butt. His knees look like that are too big and his neck and head look too small right now. It is sooo funny how they are always changing so much at this young age. I soooo cannot wait to see Enzo's spring coat this year, now that he is a bit older. His mane and tail are just getting so long for only being 18 months old. His hair is almost as long as my old horses was even as an 8 yr old. Enzo's ground work is going so well and I am sooo proud of my boy. Especially, since he used to rear everywhere, bite, and was extremely dominant. The only thing I have to watch is Enzo's dominant behavior here and there yet. Otherwise, Enzo is a good, good boy. Enzo and I have finally really figured out the circle game! I am so thrilled with that. Now that we both understand that game. It has made the other 6 Parelli games come together even better as well. Especially, my weaves and figure 8's around a cone! Enzo has mastered the pedestal now. He hoops right up. Enzo has even offered his back legs. BUT I cannot let him try that at all. My pedestal is not safe for that! But at least, I know when I get a safe pedestal it should be pretty easy for Enzo to get all 4 feet on it. One day I was cleaning up all my horse toys in the arena one night and I let Enzo free to walk around the arena if he pleased. Enzo walked over to the pedestal and climbed up and stood there with his front two feet on it sooo proud! As I kept putting my things away Enzo kept standing up there. Like, LOOK AT ME will you!!! It was so darn funny what he offers by himself sometimes. We both enjoyed the 30 degrees that we have had for the past few days and behold we even saw the sun today for over 6 hours straight!! We were both almost blinded!

THE TREELESS SADDLE IS HERE!!!

I came home after work on Friday and there it sat on my porch! The new Sensation saddle in a box! I grabbed the box and ran inside! I opened the box as fast as I could. WOW!!!! I swear a gleam of light came out of the box! It was just what I had dreamed of owning. The leather so soft, the saddle so light, and all in such great shape! It all looked basically brand new!! I took it out to the farm today, hoping it was warm enough to get Enzo out and try it on his back!! We have had the frigid weather just like everybody else around the country. Well I decided to wear every shirt, sock and snow pants I had owned. I felt like the kid from Christmas story and couldn't move, LOL! But I did feel warm! So of course, I had to get the NEW saddle out! Enzo was a great sport as always. I tacked him up with the new saddle. Enzo had been carrying his Ansur saddle around for a while already. So Enzo is used to the saddle thing by now. Anyway, the Sensation Saddle seemed to fit him like a glove!!! I am soo thrilled so far!!! Again, just what I had dreamed off!!! Ohhh so waiting to feel my butt in it!!! I will keep you posted!! Create great moments~ Janine and Enzo!!!

NEW TREELESS SADDLE :)

A couple months ago I rode in my friends Dressage/trail treeless SENSATION saddle and just feel in love! I have always loved treeless saddles. I actually own 2. One is a Ansur Dressage treeless and the other is a Barefoot treeless that I mainly use for trail riding. Anyway, I just feel in love with the Sensation and decided I would sell my Ansur Treeless to buy a Sensation Treeless saddle. I have been watching on ebay for a used sensation to keep the price down. I finally found one yesterday and bought it!!!! I am so excited and cannot wait to see it this Friday. Pictures are to the left. It's a Sensation Harmony Element(dressage flap). It's mainly the same as the dressage/trail. Except, it's more adjustable in the seat and adjustable in the placement of the stirrups. It's basically brand new and I got it for a steal! It was only used 2 times by her daughter! I am also crazy about the color purple! And long and behold the last owner had purchased a purple seat, and purple leather stirrup covers. How cool is that! So, I can use the saddle totally black, or change it to purple and black. It will even come with stirrups and a breast collar. I am soooo excited and cannot wait! Now if everything works out great? I will have to get my Ansur saddle up on ebay for sale soon! I hope everybody is staying nice and warm this winter! Create great moments~Janine and Enzo!!!

Having fun!

Enzo always makes me smile:) I just put a link below of a video with Enzo getting on the pedestal for the second time in his life. http://sharing.theflip.com/session/e5cbfabc1f35a6d96f0742654b3ab021/video/44249361 I hope it opens???? Then for fun some jumping of barrels. Which Enzo has done many times, and ending with some beginning learning's of sideways towards me. The video is a bit slow(sorry). Enzo took him time getting up on pedestal, because the barn door was squeaking from the winter winds and it had Enzo all distracted. Enzo was paying more attention on the squeaking at first than the pedestal. I also just set my camera up on top of a barrel and just let it tape. I never realized till later that I chopped off Enzo's head, oops. Since, this was only Enzo's 2nd time on the pedestal and Enzo decided to stay up on it for a long time I let him. It was about 4 to 5 minutes! I also used that time for some friendly game as well. You will also notice Enzo does give me a kiss and you see me wipe it off(normally I never would), LOL. I only did that, because we have calcium chloride in the arena to keep the dust down. Enzo apparently stuck his nose in it! And the dirt then being spread onto my face didn't taste so good, LOL. You will see a tiny later Enzo goes to kiss me again. But this time I didn't let him:( Again, Enzo is sooo funny! We then jumped the barrels a few times just for the fun of it. Enzo was being lazy, but I didn't mind. I wasn't really asking for much either. When we got to the sideways to me you will see that is newer to both of us. I have so far been only asking for a few steps at a time. When I go to his right side and ask him to come right at first. Enzo got a bit confused. Since we got close to the barrels. Enzo thought I wanted him to do something with the barrels. I had to regroup and try again and then the sideways to me worked much better. I am just thrilled I got this much. Well, this was just a tiny bit for you to see what we are up to. After I turned the taper off. We went and worked on more sideways down the fence, without a fence, circles, figure 8's, and traveling circles. Since , I was moving around so much. It's impossible to tape all of that by myself. Well, I hope everybody had a super NEW YEAR! Enzo and I have lots of plans for 2011! Create great moments~Janine and Enzo

CONTESTS, yeah!

Well, I have been super lucky lately! I won a contest to name a race horse from WinStar Farms this week! Here is a picture of the horse in '09 above 1st picture. He is an '09 colt by Bluegrass Cat out of Unbridled Con. I named him BLUEDACIOUSE!!! How much fun was this!!!! They think he will turn gray, or blue roan later? Look how big he is already in '09 and those legs! I hope I get to see him race someday and get to follow his race career!

Then I also won a Magazine on Zenyatta! Picture also above 2nd picture. All of this happened on FaceBook last week. I love FB!!

I also won a beautiful hand made leather halter with all brass buckles and brass name plate! Worth 45 dollars for Enzo and in the same contest I won 100 dollars in horse vitamins for Enzo. How sweet is the Internet!!!!!!!!!! This also happened a few months ago on FB.

Now I am in the process of winning a salt block off of FB for Enzo this week! Wish me luck! Merry Christmas everybody and many horse slobbers from Enzo!!!! Yeah, Enzo won the salt block as well!
And Enzo just won a 10 dollar gift certificate to http://store.zephyrsgarden.com/servlet/StoreFront Still loving the Internet!!!!!!!!!!

The power of neutral!

I am really starting to understand the Circle Game and so is Enzo(over the past few weeks)! Yeah! I found out I never really was neutral. There were many times that I thought I was helping Enzo by me moving, or me doing too much(trying to help Enzo). Now I send Enzo and LEAVE Enzo alone. What a concept! If Enzo stops out on the circle. I run backwards and draw Enzo to me and then send him out to a NEW direction and go straight back to neutral. Then Enzo will stop again after a few steps. Then I run backwards and change the direction again. I keep doing this as much as we need to. At first I figured, Enzo would never get it. But long and behold Enzo stayed on the circle longer and longer without me having to change direction. Soon I was able to get walk, trot and even canter! All so easily with just a suggestion. How fun and easy this was. We both figured out that all is good when I am in the middle being neutral. Enzo learned, how to keep his mom quiet in the center of the circle. What a cool feeling it has been and how fun that I don't need to do soo much any more(nagging on the circle). Instead of letting Enzo think his way around the circle. In the meantime though, we have broken our change of direction. But that is ok. Sometime you have to break something else before you fix another thing. Now when Enzo wants to stop out on the circle I will run back to change direction. But before I can get Enzo to change direction Enzo realizes that he needs to continue his circle game and takes off in the same direction he was going. So in his mind he is saying. Instead of me changing directions, I understand you want me to stay at the trot. So I will just continue at the trot without changing directions. So for now, I don't make it a big deal that Enzo is blowing off my change of direction, I am taking the fact that Enzo is at least offering to continue on the circle. So from here on out. I will work on getting Enzo calmer out on the circles also. I have noticed that Enzo is not calm while trotting nor cantering on the circle. When Enzo trots it can be a running trot sometimes and the canter is cross firing and kind of crazy. At this point, I have been soo excited that Enzo is staying out on the circle and that he is going multiple laps now. Before I could hardly get Enzo to move nor get him to even stay out! Enzo kept coming into me before. Once, I can get a calm walk, trot, and canter. Then I might experiment with getting the change of direction back. We will see what happens? I am not getting as much time these days to play with Enzo. The weather has turned bad, I live an hour from the barn, and the holidays are taking time as well. But Enzo just turned 17 months old. So time off here and there, while he is so young will be just fine. Keep it natural and create great moments~ Janine and Enzo

Love garbage picking, LOL

Soo this week I was soo thrilled. I garbage picked a twin mattress for Enzo! This way he can learn how to walk across it! This is my 3rd item I have garbage picked. The first was an old lady bug play sand box. I put a fake moving weasel inside it to roll around. It can really worry a horse and it's fun to work with. But Enzo only took 2 days to get used to it. I then got him a large wooden spool and reinforced it a ton and turned it into a pedestal! Now I got the mattress, yeah!! What creative fun! Here is a picture of the child's sandbox and my weasel. I don't have photo's of my spool or my mattress as of yet. What have you garbage picked? Create Great moments~ Janine and Enzo!!!

Updates for me, Enzo, Remmer and Denali! XXOXX

Enzo and I have just been taking it easy lately. Thus the not to often posts. I continue to play the Parelli 7 games with Enzo and I try to keep his mind busy, since Enzo is such a fast learner. Just last week I was working on Enzo coming sideways to me and it worked so fast. I was soo thrilled!!! I am still working on finding the correct balance for Enzo on our circle game. Just enough to keep Enzo engaged to play with me. Yet not too strong to push Enzo away from me and way out of the circle.

As for Linda Parelli's horse Remmer! He is doing much better and I am just thrilled to hear that! I pray and hope they both continue their wonderful work in their Parelli fun! 2nd picture is Remmer with back legs wrapped.

And I am so thrilled to find out that Denali is doing so much better as well. I really pray for Denali and her mom togetherness again very soon. http://www.wildponybeast.blogspot.com/ Love all you guys!!!
